I just read ' The Thing of a Thousand Shapes' by Otis Adelbert Kline, and then, because it was very short, went on to 'The Cats of Ulthar' by H. P. Lovecraft. The Otis Adelbert Kline story just blew out of the water almost every bit of Horror I read in October. I think this is going to be a fun anthology.

A re-read of Lovecraft’s story ‘Dagon’, the first yarn on offer in here. I confess it’s too short and uneventful to resonate with me, but I got tons of tales in this wickedly lovely book to bring it up notch by notch.

This seems to be the latest in a really gorgeous line of books bringing us oodles of old Fantasy, SF, and Horror tales. I have avoided temptation at the bookstore, because when I open them, they are full of stories I’ve read. But I pre-ordered this one, gambling there’d be enough material I hadn’t read before, and some unfamiliar authors. Happy to say it’s true; who are Mearl Prout, Nictzin Dyalhis…etc.?
