Vanitha Narayan hahaha, Ilse! You so badly make me want to be in Smiley's company again :) Unfortunately I am not capable of reading more than one book at a time. Have fun!

Thank you so much, Vanitha! It's good to be in Smiley's company again, and he even strikes a poetical note in this volume :). This will likely be the last novel I'll be able to finish this year - Looking at the pile of unread books here on the shelf, I can relate to your wish of being able to read more than one book at a time - so many books, so little time!

ps and those gods do not fight in basin but in vain in the quote, the curse of autocorrect ruined the quote :-(

Smiley, sure can be a poet, even in the first one there were some lines that really struck me.

Hope we both find more time to spend with Smiley :)

"ps and those gods do not fight in basin but in vain in the quote, the curse of autocorrect ruined the quote :-(" --- I was thinking there was something off with the sentence, haha. That is so funny!
