Didn’t note this when I first realized it, but the omniscient narrator of this book is a raven. The Raven Guardian? A flock of ravens? Unclear. Obsessed with this book, though. Also, how sure are we that Yama is really dead? Whenever a character dies off the page in a fantasy novel, I always question whether they’re DEAD dead or people just THINK they’re dead.

Love that we're already breaking the 4th wall with that footnote. And who is "we"? Also, "we are aggrieved" makes me giggle and also makes my brain immediately say "Mongo is appalled." Too soon after finishing book 8 of DCC, apparently.
