It had been okay. Mildly interesting. At 70%, it has taken a turn. We have switched to trite, soap opera melodrama, and little lists to remind us what was going on in the world that year. What? One character writes a letter to another character and it is absolutely terrible, as in something a fourteen year old would add here if they were the author. Now the big question...just finish the damn thing or DNF it?

Starting this with trepidation. I heard great things about it, but now I see reviews by people I follow and they don't like it very much. Seems like a few books now that Ann Patchett recommended that I wasn't thrilled with. Here's hoping this is fairly good.
