And I find out about so much good music through his Twitter - the man is a living archive of BURIED music

Somehow, I did not catch that. I'm slipping

I'm mostly using it to reconstruct my old music library, or at least that of it I'm likely to listen to again. It's good for asking for recommendations on the forum, people's lists. I've seen people champion last.fm, but I have a feeling it would take a while to get used to, and I'm not sure it's worth it. I'm presently in the process of building up my vocabulary for the improvisational avant-garde.

Autechre - Quaristice (Versions)
I Am a Lake of Burning Orchids - Innocence

This year has been pretty dry for meI enjoyed the Mono no aware comp.
Julia Holter put out a live recording
Ryuichi Sakamoto's async was purportedly inspired by Tarkovsky, sounds quite nice
New Yowie record was okay
New Jlin record was a colossal disappointment

I just started too! Sure there's tons of stuff I missed..
Oh yeah the Mono no aware comp def
Grafts is a brilliant record, but I didn't really like those other ones much. Quarantine is longtime favourite, but nothing else she's done has felt nearly as aesthetically adventurous. Don't suppose you know whether Holly Herndon has anything in the works? What I like about her is how all of her conceptualism and sonic experimentation is blown away by the beauty of her voice.
Here's what I've been listening to (some of it is from previous years, sorry I'm just catching up)Valerie June - The Order of Time
Fleet Foxes - Crack-Up
Kendrick Lamar - DAMN
SZA - Ctrl
Y La Bamba - Ojos Del Sol (2016)
Laura Marling - Semper Femina
Fazerdaze - Morningside and s/t EP
Julia Holter - Have You in My Wilderness (2015)
Roberta Flack - First Take (1969)
Tift Merritt - Stitch of the World
Oh Pep! - Stadium Cake (2016)
Lucius - Good Grief (2016)
