12. MS. Found in a Bottle. 4⭐️

The Balloon-Hoax. 3⭐️ The part of the story about the engineering of the balloon is at the same time boring and cute (reading it 182 years after it was written). But the part of the journal is nice.

10. Four Beasts in One - The Homo-Cameleopard 2⭐️ I think I’m missing the knowledge of the historic context to fully appreciate this story, maybe.

9. The Gold-Bug. 3,75⭐️ very ingenious treasure hunt.

8. The Tell-Tale Heart. 5⭐️ my favorite of all.

The premature burial 3⭐️ The title describes the tale, the narration it’s not as immersive as other tales and unexpectedly comes a “happy” ending.

Better said: *makes you feel THE ANXIETY inside that dungeon!

6. The pit and the pendulum. 5⭐️ Fantastic! The descriptiveness of this tale makes you feel inside that dungeon. It was mandatory to read this tale in school, I loved it then and I loved it again now.

5. The Fall of the House of Usher. 5⭐️ the classical example of Poe’s style: extraordinary narration, perfect description of the settings and the atmosphere that makes you feel inside the story and transmits exactly the suspense and gloom of the place.

4. The purloined letter. 3⭐️ . Classic Poe. Analytic, strategic, intelligent and a bit arrogant. Nice!
