It seems that the book has finally moved on from the issues that were more than evident with Bobbs-Merrill. Far too much time was spent on Irma's dislike and problems with the publisher. It is now 1960 and Marion is having to take over more of the revisions on the book because of her mother's health. Still have those interesting gems on occasion on how food has changed over time.

Suzy worth the slog?

I am not sure yet--I read more last night and my interest picked up. Going on vacation today so will have some dedicated time to really get into this. I started this book years ago and want to read it....
