Good book so far. I'm learning the first biggest problem the Allies (not just Canada) had at the outbreak of war was finding able-bodied commanders. Those there on seniority were simply not suited for the demands of the daily pace. They had to identify these people and get rid of them. Not what i wanted to hear, but I'm reading on!

Only 2.5 chapters remaining. The length of the authors sentences and paragraph structure has made this book a slow and confusing read for me. This is further confounded by the constant use of acronyms which are closely similar and sent me back to the glossary regularly.
