Montgomery's imagery is beautiful, it's almost poetic! I can almost perfectly imagine her encounters with the creatures she describes. I have virtually ignorant on the subject of octopuses, save for the basics, and this book is perfect as a not-wholly-scientific introductory book to these magnificent creatures. Already, Sy Montgomery has managed to fill me with an insatiable curiosity and adoration for octopuses.
