Brietta > Status Update

Seven months and I've only read a 1/3 of this 900+ page book! It's a bit of a slog, but I'm committed to finishing it even if it takes all year. What have I gleaned so far? There's WAY more to the story than what is in the musical. 261 pages in and Aldonza has yet to make an appearance (though Don Quixote speaks of her frequently). I'm also enjoying the humorous banter between Sancho Panza and his master.
