I wasn't going to fall in love with the Prince Maxson. From what I'd seen on the Illéa Capital Report, I wouldn't even like the guy.

Snicker. This is why re-reads are obvious fun.

I'm doing a re-read of the Selection series because, a) I now own all of the books, and b) I think I can appreciate them a little more this time around.

I feel kind of hollow after finishing this. Where was the climax? The rebel attack and Aspen's appearance felt kind of... small.

When does the interesting stuff start? I thought the Selection was going to be the fun bit, but there's sort of a lull. This definitely doesn't have anything to make it compare to the Hunger Games.

I feel a bit empty reading it. I'm enjoying it, but it's missing something. I think it's just America's character.

Arrived in the mail today, and since I finished Insurgent in one sitting yesterday I figure I'll now tear into this one. So far it's pretty ordinary, I'm not feeling much towards America as a character- but I'm not completely disinterested as the other reviews led me to believe I would be.
