I like the chapter transitions. So unexpected.

"He's like a drug for you, Bella." His voice was still gentle, not at all critical. "I see that you can't live without him now. It's too late. But I would have been healthier for you. Not a drug; I would have been the air, the sun."

I want you to call me every bad name you can think of, in every language you know. I want you to tell me that you're disgusted with me and you're going to leave me so that I can beg and grovel on my knees for you to stay. I am distinctly uncomfortable. Enough with the self-loathing.

(1) Just because you want to make out passionately with someone doesn't mean you love them, Bella (2) I feel awful for Bella and Jacob - if she knows for a fact she'll never want him, she shouldn't lead him on (3) I liked Jacob in New Moon, but now he is being far too pushy. It's not attractive.

Bella, why aren't you blaming Edward? He deserves it. Silly girl. Though, yes, you should have told Jake before rather than continually lead him on (even if you were having trouble with it yourself).

Kind of a low blow, Edward...

I wondered if I was a monster. Not the kind that he thought he was, but the real kind. The kind that hurt people. The kind that had no limits when it came to what they wanted. What I wanted was to keep him safe, safe with me. Did I have a limit to what I would do, what I would sacrifice for that? I wasn't sure. Very interesting.

Bella is being very manipulative right now toward Edward. Kind of messed up but kind of poetic justice.
