haha if it makes u feel better Yoshi, Friedrick did slapped the sh*t out of Konrad after Guntram left. XD
I couldn't finish the first book so I know I won't be reading this one. Too much angst for me. Eeek.
@Silver, I can only tell you, there's a HEA at the end. @Say, you love cheating books? Good girl! Can't you buy the book??
@Thuly, yes, I know. But still, I want our Goran do something nasty to him.
Oh... Our Goran, love him!

I know but it scarred me for life!!! Probably because it was my first m/m read ever. lol ;) I don't remember a whole lot about The Substitute other than I didn't read it all. I stopped 1/2 way thru then went straight to the end to see how the story ended. And to learn that Konrad cheats on him. Oh god, I couldn't take it. I'm such a wuss, I know.
Stephanie, Your first mm read was SF??!! OMG! You are such a brave woman! My another GR friend said that nothing can scare him because he has read SF. So, you don't like angst and cheating in your books?

I had NO idea what it was about or what happened in the story prior to reading it. I picked it to read because it was free and everyone was saying how awesome it was. And I thought "OK, this will be a good one to test to see if m/m would be to my liking." And it was ;) But now I'm once bitten twice shy...lol.
I do like angst but not to the point where I'm drowning in anxiety constantly. Which is probably why I haven't read any of Amy Lane's more popular books (The Locker Room, Chance and Promises.)
And I don't mind cheating IF it's not with a woman. For some reason I can't tolerate it if an author brings a female into a m/m story to create drama/angst. If it's a man, I CAN be o.k. with it. It just depends on how the author uses the cheating in his/her story. For instance if a man cheats on his partner and they are able to grow stronger from it because the issues behind the cheating are confronted and dealt with, then I'm o.k. with it. But more often than not, the cheating is never dealt with because its only purpose is to create angst/drama and I end up feeling very angry at the cheater through out the rest of the story. So even if there is a HEA, I fails to move me.
Stephanie: Once bitten twice shy? LOLI tend to like some dark and angst reads. I have read only 1 or 2 books by Amy Lane but I didn't like them too much. But, after reading some angsty reads, I need some cute and comfort books.
I don't like any woman in my mm book. That's why I didn't like the ending of the Dark Soul series.
