i'm confused. Chapter 1 start 4 years later, after he meets his mate first time. But when he was talking to his parents about him being gay and his mates, he said it was 6 month ago. WTH???

Bookwatcher That part is confusing. I understand as Michael in the present time, is remember when he said it to his parents, in the past, and the six month is what he was saying in the past, because it was how long he wait to tell his parents
Present- after 3 years of search
Told his parents about his mate - after 6 month of Kaden disappearance
