Tolken's books have given me a greater appreciate of Wryd, or fate as the germanic and norse peoples understood them. That fate, may be tragic, as in the elves, or triumphant, as in the case of men, or unknown to the Powers, as in the case of men or Dwarves. What matters is acting in defiance of fate.
