Rowan McBride writes very strange stuff. I read this a long time ago but I remember getting caught up in the whole role reversal due to the change in size thing. McBride has another book that's kind of built on the same concept.

Well, I ended up liking it...but like you said, unusual. I'll read her other books though.
It's very different from any other book in the genre.
