Even though this is a beautifully written book it's a pretty crappy novel.

He read the list of the Most Wanted – 25 names on the whiteboard. Next to more than half the names it said (killed) (killed) (killed). ‘They are all Pakistanis & Afghanis, Their shelf-life is not more than 6 months By the year-end they will all be eliminated But we never kill Kashmiri boys NEVER. Never unless they are hard-core.’
The barefaced lie hung in the air unchallenged. That was its purpose – to test the air.

Amazing...spine-chilling description of the atmosphere in Kashmir.

Things are brewing, getting serious now, interesting.

The adversaries squared off. Anjum and the Accountant. both of them were on the pavement to escape their past...

Damn this is delightful - especially - the chapter on Delhi protests. And when you know each and every detail having lived in Delhi - it's even more interesting. But yes her bickering should stop at some point too to develop the story.
