I have got to stop downloading books just because they're free...

Omg Q, I so feel your pain on this. I've actually just finished going through all the books I own on my Kindle and deleted a bunch of crap that I honestly couldn't figure out why I downloaded in the first place.

My problem is if I download them, then I feel like I have to read them. I've been reading such utter shite lately that I don't even feel right reviewing because, under normal circumstances (reading the blurb, making a decision based on other reviews), I would have never bought them. But send me an email with a free download link, and I'm all over it?!?! Ugh...
Yeah, I've had to force myself to be more selective on what I download. There are just so many books on my Kindle that I really, really want to read that I needed to clear out the trash so I would actually see them and remember I have them!
I need to do that. No, correction--I need to train my brain to be able to do that. I think I'm an ebook hoarder.
I'm so bad, Selene. I can't even delete them once I'm done, and I never reread a book. I just can't do it. Even the ones that were so bad I DNFed them (and they have to be incredibly bad for my OCD to allow that), I still have them in my kindle. Thank God for KU, or it would be even worse...

And I'm only deleting stuff because my books are stored on my iPad and I don't want to use up all the storage, lol.
How's KU? I've been meaning to do a trial run.
I LOVE KU. At $10/month, it really can't be beat, especially when you read as much as I do. You can even (sometimes) find deals if you pay in advance. That's what I did. I got 2 years for $199, saving $40. At first I wasn't sure about it, but I added it all up, and it really does save me a ton of money.
^^ Thanks for the tip! KU would be a bit of a splurge for me since I mostly read ARCs or library/borrowed books, but I wouldn't mind testing out the service. Maybe I'll get hooked and change my mind, lol!
I think one of the very best things about KU is that I return the books and never have to see them on my kindle again. But I do think it has caused me to read some trashier novels than I would have otherwise.
True, Emma. I have a lot of that also. But, on the flip side of that, I've also found some real gems that I don't know that I would've otherwise tried had they not been KU.
very true. Last night I finished the 8th in series I surely would not have tried without KU. And today's book was just not that good but acceptable for free. If I had paid for it I would have been disappointed. I figure if I get two books a month that I figure would have been worth $5 each then it is a good deal.
