This book not only deals with the politics and political history of Russia, but also goes into quite a bit of detail as to the overall geo-political environment of Europe in the Seventeeth and Eighteenth Centuries.

Obviously, the author's main focus is on Peter, but so far I have learned a lot about Louis XIV of France, Charles XII of Sweden, and Frederick Augustus I of Saxony (a.k.a. Augustus II of Poland).
