This is just not quite the book for me. At this point, I'm wishing we had gotten to spend more time in this world, because I think it would make the current revelations feel that much more satisfying. As it is, this is... not quite coming out of nowhere, but it's hasn't had enough buildup to make a reader's emotional journey match Ava's.
