'She took a moment of satisfaction at the dismay on their faces. They began to speak all at once, shouting over each other as to who was to blame for such an oversight. Constance watched them with growing contempt. Norman or Saxon, men were all the same: casting blame & brawling.'

'Her throat tightened with distaste, imagining the uses her captors might have for her. She had hoped she had put such degradation & pain behind her when Piteur died, but if it took that to keep her alive or regain her freedom, Constance would use every advantage it gave her.' ....Damn skippy. I like this chick's attitude.
