In books one and two there are repeated references to main character, a lawyer, a "prosecuting" but prosecutors work for district attorneys ' offices in NY and deal with criminals. This lawyer is dealing with civil cases and works for a private firm. Additionally there are too many instances of British idioms. For example, characters from Maine, relocated to NYC would not refer to their apartments as flats.
