I rarely don't finish a book, but I just couldn't face reading this one through. Perhaps it is because I hadn't read any previous in this series, but I felt the characters lacked development, and I didn't empathize with any of them. I found the story unlikely and the people unpleasant. I have read books by Fyfield before and liked them, and was disappointed with this one.
