"The colorful beak of the Atlantic Puffin, Fratercula arctica, has caused it to be called a "sea parrot." The name puffin originally meant "fatling" which referred to the chicks of the Manx Shearwater (Puffinus puffinus). Fratercula means little brother or little friar, referring to the way their feet are held together in flight as if they were praying."
