Well, she could not help loving him, but he would never know it. If it killed her, she would not again display the love for which Rannulf had only contempt.Would you two just freaking talk to each other for five minutes?

"It was not too little love I felt, but too much."

"Could you not have said that?"
I was kinda wondering the same thing...

Those were my thoughts exactly when I read it. But if they actually talked, where would the story be? :)
Tanzanite wrote: "Those were my thoughts exactly when I read it. But if they actually talked, where would the story be? :)"Good point. I'm just cranky pants for reading books I have for a challenge instead of books I want to read now.
Tanzanite wrote: "That's why I quit doing challenges..."40 books in a year should be a no brainer for me, but 40 books not purchased in the current year is a problem.
I'm done with challenges after this one.
I aimed low so I could still read other books as the need arrived. The challenge just helps keep me focused on MT TBR.
Jemidar wrote: "I aimed low so I could still read other books as the need arrived. The challenge just helps keep me focused on MT TBR."I should make the 40, but I will not aim higher. If it happens, it happens. Period.
No, even if I make my 25 I'm not going to level up either. Anything above that will just be icing on the cake.

I've found the general GR one has increased my total books read so I had hoped that this one would increase my Mt TBR read, but I'm afraid I'm too easily distracted by shiny new (to me) books!
Books like that make me want to shove both characters into a woodchipper. There's a difference between endearing stubbornness & annoying non-communication.

Look at the book Karla and Sarah are reading right now. I'm so close to ordering a copy you have no idea...
Sarah, the Big Mis toned down a bit around halfway through, but I hear ya. Drives me nuts. Judith McNaught is still the queen of them :/
I'm late for the Mt TBR group read of A Tale of Two Cities (which I've had sitting on my Kindle for over a year!) because I just couldn't wait to read Bring Up the Bodies any longer.
I wish I could have made room for A Tale of Two Cities and joined you, but re-reads don't count dammit :/I do want to read it again some day. The first time around I knew very little about the revolution.
There's a few things I've wanted to re-read this year but I just can't justify it because of the TBR challenge. Not to mention reading Bring Up the Bodies is making me want to revisit Wolf Hall :-(.

I'm in no rush to read another of her books. One was enough per decade, methinks.
