Interesting that despite all the talk of a 'special relationship' President Lyndon B Johnson snubbed Churchill's funeral because of 'a cold' and failed to send even Vice President Hubert Humphrey, instead sending Dean Rusk Secretary of State who did not even attend as he himself 'caught a cold' when he got to London and was too ill to attend (although well enough to fly back the same day).
