“Are you real?” I sighed with relief as I smiled up at him. “Define real.”

“I’m not that mysterious,” he said, rounding the island until he was next to me. “I want the same things you want.” He held his hand out for me to take, then he began leading me toward the glass doors overlooking the patio. “I want comfort and security. I want to feel needed…and I want to need someone.”
