So far in the book he has now shared his secret about his dad being in jail. He feels better because he shared his secret. So he is starting to fit in more and meet new friends.

In the book Ghost just got back to school after being suspended the night before he had cut the top of his shoes off so that he could run faster at track and look cooler. That turned on him and he was laughed at all day. So at lunch he made his break for it. He run or ditched from school. He finally stopped and went into a shoe place to find better shoes. He found them and then stole them.

So far I am only 50 pages in but it seem like a good book. Ghost the main character is a kid that only has his mom and they live in a bad neighborhood. So far he is always getting in trouble, but I think his track coach will make him a better person.
