Chapter Six: Max and the boys are somehow transported to who knows where. Sophie and Lotte follow shortly afterwards. They slowly realize they have time traveled to the past. And they have no idea how to get back to the present.

Chapter Four: Max, Sophie, Lotte, and the kids explore Margrit's old cottage. Wonderfully, vivid descriptions in this chapter.

Chapter Five: Sophie and Lotte end up alone in Margrit's cellar. Where have the others disappeared to? Great tension.

Chapter Two: With Sophie's and the city librarian's help, Max finds where Margrit's house is, and he learns the villagers called Margrit 'The Crazy Witch' when she was alive.

Chapter Three: Sophie's Aunt Lotte arrives at Sophie's house and tells her not to go to the Crazy Witch's house. The attraction between Max and Sophie build. Despite Lotte's warning, Max and Sophie go in search of Margrit's home.

Chapter One: We learn that Lotte and Margrit did something to Karl and Monica, and now Margrit wants to 'confess my sin'. Then we meet Max and Ryan, as well as Sophia and Tobias.

An interesting start.
