Just reading the section on small wading birds and had a horrible flashback to a zoology field trip to Aberlady Bay in freezing horizontal rain, when I had food poisoning thanks to a dodgy tuna roll (thanks Charlie McNair) and a bus that broke down... Think that was one of the most miserable days of my life, convincing me that ornithology was not for me.
