I think I must be missing something here. During WW1, a bunch of witches killed a bunch of vampires by accident, and then the vampires retaliated and killed a bunch of witches...and somehow it's all the humans' fault. What?

Protagonist's tendency to refer to mundanes (humans) as stupid is alienating this reader.
