Clarissa added a status update
I found my old homeschool reading lists today!! Now, not only do I have access to the dates I read things, but I had apparently even given a lot of them a star-based rating, too. Seems I was Goodreading before I knew Goodreads even existed! :-D (I'll be having some fun updating my shelves, now, I'm sure. And rereading most of them, since I can't remember a lot of them at all, lol)

Kim AWESOME! I can't wait to see your past reads---especially in light of this morning's conversation, mwahahahaha. :D

Clarissa Oh, man. It's so fun to see what books I read from so long ago. (I might have totally spent all the time between games and family time yesterday adding all the books from my freshman year...maybe. ) Also a little frustrating to see that I DID read Under the Lilacs, but I still can't remember doing it, or what it was about. But apparently I loved it five stars worth. So who knows? (This just means I get to read it again! MUAHAHAHA!)

Also, so far I've turned off all the "Post to feed" items, so that you won't be super, super overwhelmed with spam. (Sooo much spam!) Since Lily and Mom aren't on much, the level of spam would be mainly affecting you, so if you want me to turn it all back on, I can! Just beware...there're a lot of books to be shelved. LOTS.

So far, most of my updates have been made to the years 2002-2003, so you can probably catch up to the madness pretty quick, if you're in a hurry to watch it happen, lol. However, I've discovered that the wonderful stats page, and the "View books from the year ----" pages do not show the books I've reread since their original read date. It shows an accurate number, but when you go to see all the books, there's a few missing because they're only apparently listed under the year they were REread. Which...is a small matter, really, but still a little frustrating when one's gone to all the work of making sure the original read date is accurate, lol. I hope any of that made sense...

Kim Aw, that is SUPER annoying! I know people have been clamoring for the ability to indicate a reread on this site for ages, but I don't think Goodread's coding is particularly adept at conveying it. Sigh. Maybe they'll eventually smooth out the kinks and create something less clumsy?

As for turning on the notifications...hmm...probably best not to if there are truly so many? I'd love to look at them all, but I have a feeling that if there are too many, I'll just end up missing something good when I think I'm actually seeing everything. Instead, I'll just stop by your shelves from time to time to peruse the good stuff. ;)

But hurrah for updating your shelves! SO. EXCITING. (And satisfying to have them all proudly displayed, I'm sure. :D)

Clarissa I'm sure they probably will. I mean, maybe not a lot of people use it, but the ones that do are probably unhappy about it. I was wrong, too, about the stats page. That one, at least for mine, does actually show everything correctly. Perhaps it was glitching earlier because I was adjusting dates as I went along, or perhaps I looked at it crooked and was mistaken, but now it seems to be working fine! It's just when you click the "View books read in ----" link, where it shows them in a list with details, that it messes up. Oops...lol.

I totally understand, and that's why I thought to turn them off when I got started last night. It can get reeeally spammy very quickly. So I'm happy to keep the spam off the feed! :-D
