Is Filled a pipe and lighted it correct? Should it not be light? It annoys me but I am not sure if it is wrong or not.

I liked the book more at the start. =( The way some of the characters talk keeps changing for no reason. What I mean is at times they use a lot of slang and a scene later no slang at all? Also a few errors, just enough to make it irritating.
