I'm human enough to acknowledge the effort Scarlett made to amends with the readers. At least she had the humility to appreciate that her initial attempt was poorly executed.
It's highly unlikely that I'll ever invest my time in another one of her books. Amends or none. The 'ending' wasn't my only gripe, it was just the straw that broke the camel's back.
Perhaps, in time, my mind will change. Perhaps.
