Just started...so far, just an overview of terms and survey/research techniques which relate to the origins of the people who eventually made it to the Americas (spoiler: northeast Asians lol).

Once you get past the author's soap box, the book is pretty well put-together and provides decent detail about a large number of important paleoindian sites. It does seem like the authors would have benefited from a more effective copy-editor, as there are quite a few mistakes that I'd consider unacceptable for a scholarly work, and detracts from the experience as well as the authors' credibility a little bit.

Still mainly background, though we have already come to that modern academic publishing phenomena where the author has to accuse the previous generation's researchers of being sexist and unenlightened when it comes to their theories on the peopling of the Americas...meanwhile, he follows it up with a statement that there is no actual reason that female-centric theories could have been considered! What a weenie!
