Wait a minute. Who's the idiot? This guy's drunk and possibly about to sexually assault her. He's not talking about her freaking hair colour!

It only took thirty minutes to walk around the island and less than that if you went straight through the middle.

(This book has been doing this sort of thing since the beginning, over-explaining simple concepts. It leads to a bit of a condescending tone, and it's kind of insulting.)

Marvin? How many teenage boys do you know named Marvin? (For that matter, how many teenage girls named Babe? It's like her parents wanted her to be objectified or something.)

I was hoping the MC was going to be one of those characters who starts out insufferable and then learns the error of her ways. But there's no sign of that happening, and I'm starting to doubt it will.

It's comments like this that make me wonder if Babe has the IQ of a turnip.

It's written as light-hearted teasing, but something about the MC making fun of her Vietnamese friend's surname just doesn't sit right with me.

What first kiss? In YA, I kind of expect to see it... not just be told about it after the fact.
