This must be the slowest progress I've made in a long time :) But I put that down to not making time to read than to the book itself. I'm glad the story's making better progress than I am.

The problem with historical fiction, especially when dealing with modern history, is that every second page gives you a Forrest Gump moment. The character's been through it all! After plodding through the initial pages of History 101 replete with seemingly irrelevant backstories, the plot has finally started to gain traction.
Here's hoping the so far quite-easily-put-downable book stops being so from here on.
