I love historical fiction set in turn-of-the century NYC, and I feel a patriotic duty to read works by Canadian authors. The Witches of New York hit both those marks. It was entertaining, and engaging. Why only three stars? I found the minute details on witchcraft tedious, and the plot is convoluted featuring many characters of varying degrees of relevance. In short, to my mind, not enough editing was done.
