He had started to play again. He wanted to start but couldnt because of his fight. So he worked very hard and decided to practice hard.

Shane does not think he is going to get a scholar ship. He thinks that he blew one game and he doesnt think he is gonna go to a good college. But his mom encourages him to keep trying.

Shane pitched the seventh inning of his game while the scout was watching. He blew the game and couldnt bring himself together. But the next game he closed the game and pitched great. He is becoming a more mental pitcher and he is getting more mentally tough.

Shane was informed that a college scout was at their game. He asked a couple of questions about Shane and then had an interveiw with him about going to college. He tells Shane that he has to pitch a flawless rest of the season to get into college.

Shane and Reese start their last practice before the season starts. Shane was throwing better than he had ever pitched before. He threw so good, it made Reese mad and realize that he wanted to quit. He told Shane his fame was over, he was just an ordinary player. Then the season starts and Whittmans team is better than ever.

Shane and Reese have done their same routine all winter, except for the days it rained. Reese has started hitting better, but Shane cannot bring himself to throw 100 percent. And he knows he isnt throwing his best, but he doesnt know hwat to do to pitch his best.

Shane and Reese ar throwing more, and Reese ask Shane to pitch to him. Actually pitch to him, not just batting practice. Shane says no and they no longer throw. Shane starts to ref soccer games.

Shane keeps playing the pick up games with the mexicans. He was told that reese, (the boy he hit in the head) was there. He then sees him and notices he isnt as good as he used to be. Reese and Shane then become playing

Shane decided to not play baseball for the school next year. His mom decides he needs to get a job over the summer. Shane applies at businesses at the mall. His mom calls the old baseball coach and finds him a job being a referee at a basketball leauge. He likes it, then starts to play baseball pick up games, with older men. And he wants to pitch, but doesnt want to tell anyone that he has the urge.

Shane was informed that he was not gonna be pitching anymore for the high school team. He was told he might play outfield, but after trying out. He was told he might not see another inning for the rest of the season. He then decides that he doesnt want to play next year, and he is just gonna have to give up.
