I've already finished! I don't think one can experience a Sanderson burnout! It was great the second time around. I remembered all key points but I still enjoyed it tremendously. I've also manage to start Lyss' novella but as she's not one of my favourite characters, I've decided to pause it and wait for you to read and chat about it. I hope you make progress with WoR soon:)
I'm also loving Stormlight the second/third time around. I'm nearing the 40% mark so I'm making good progress but it will likely be a bit of time before I finish WoR yet. I'm not sure I can even recall who Lift is so hopefully she makes an appearance in the second half of WoR just to jog my memory!
I'm wondering if we should also read Secret History after we finish Edgedancer as someone was just telling me it includes some information on the Cosmere and Shards in general. Do you want to squeeze it in before Oathbreaker or should we just go with our original plan and save it for a Mistborn reread?
I might glad you're loving WoR as much as I did. Sanderson is always amazing I feel he's not surprising the second time around. You'll remember who Lift is soon enough. The girl who calls her spren a void-bringer:)
Let's see nphow much time we have after we finish Edgedancdr and we can decide about Secret History then.
WoR is definitely just as good the second time around. I find I'm a little happier with Kaladin this time as I know he does not end up doing any of the stupid stuff I feared he might do the first time around! I've just hit the Lift interlude. I've actually stalled at it a bit so I see what you mean about her being a tough character to deal with for a long spell! I like her spren but I'm less keen on Lift herself.
I guess I was the same with me about Kaladin. I also remembered what Aidolin did though. So I'm not expecting him to become a radiant now. So you see about Lift. She's just as challenging to like in the novella.
I have no idea what Adolin did. I must have forgotten! I guess I'll find out what it was soon enough. I've actually been quite liking him during this reread. The other thing different about this reread of WoR for me is that I'm far less negative about the prospects of Shallan romancing either Adolin or Kaladin. The first few times around with Stormlight I really wanted Kaladin/Syl but this time I feel less like that is going to happen so I'm more open to Kaladin/Shallan though I do still prefer Adolin/Shallan.
I'm hoping we see more of Lift's good side and less of her annoying side in the novella. She improved a bit as the novella progressed and I did like how she went back and saved that other kid.
You'll find out soon enough:) I'm very curious what you'll think of it. LOL, I remember now how you viewed Syl and Karl as a good couple:) I'm not sure which guy I like more for Shallan. I'm also wondering if she'll get any of them at all! Sanderson is good at romance but this time the triangle might be too much for any of the three!
Lift does have a good side to her but she's still not the most able character:) I would have read a novella about Zeth with much more excitement. He's crazy but he's cool:)
I'm blasting through WoR so I might finish as quick as tomorrow! I listened to the GA version this time which was a bit shorter in length. Though it was awesome. I love Kramer and Reading but the graphic audio was even better! I wonder if I'm the only one who was hoping for a Kaladin/Syl romance. I've noticed a bunch of readers rereading the Stormlight books on my Goodreads feed lately but only one of them even seems to have considered the possibility of Kaladin and Syl as an item. Everyone else is focused on the Kaladin/Adolin/Shallan love triangle or dreaming of Kaladin and Jasnah hitting it off if they ever meet. If it is a choice between Kaladin and Adolin for Shallan then I'm favouring Adolin. I've been enjoying their interactions in WoR a lot:)
Lol, I meant the Lift interlude rather than the Lift novellas as I've not started that yet. If I finish WoR quick enough I might pick up The Core and them do Edgedancer after that. Where are you with both books? Have you put the Lift novella on hold and how far are you into The Core?
I have managed to finish WoR. You were right about that Adolin development being quite shocking! I thought he had been having a great book until then and he had really been growing on me as a character. I'm a lot less sure about him after what he did:(
I'm glad you enjoyed the graphic audio even than the Kramer/Reading version. LOL, I think both JAsnah and Syl are equally unsuitable for Kal! I'm sorry you too felt that Aidolin's final choice marred his character. I'm sure now he's no knight radiant. Or he can be redeeemed?
As for the Lisft novella, it's on hold. I'm trudging though The Core. It's a much weaker book than the rest of the series. Even book 4 with the horrible Crasians was much better! I'm really curious what you think of it! Have you started it yet?
The Stormlight Graphic Audio was as great as the GA for Elantris. At least I'll have our read of Edgedancer to get me acclimatized to listening to the regular audio again:) I cannot believe you are not a Kal/Syl fan! Wit Kal heading back to his home town I wonder if we will see him rekindle is almost romance with that girl he grew up with?
I definitely think Adolin has blown his chance at becoming a Radiant. I cannot imagine an honor spren like Syl putting up with what he did! I still hope he can be redeemed but I'm also fearing this might be the start of him stumbling down a dark path that gets him killed.
I've decided to save starting Edgedancer until after I finish The Core. I'm about halfway through The Core. I'm finding it similar in quality to the last bunch of DC books.

How are you enjoying this second time around?
