I am struggling with this. The narrative distance from Charlotte, the multitude of names without distinguishing features, and the lack of any sound investigating is making me tres disappoint.

As much as I love Mrs Watson--and I do!--I can't help but be frustrated by her casting as a maternal guide to Sherlock/Charlotte. It kind of underlines a larger issue I'm having with this adaptation: the paradox of the naive detective. Just how far am I willing to suspend belief that Sherlock/Charlotte can actually solve cases when she's allegedly so inexperienced? Not far enough, it seems...
