The three short stories surrounding Hema and Kaushik are a bit different from the rest - a bit darker and more pronounced in tone. Still, they are written with the same flawlessness in writing, very character focused, hence it is even more interesting to follow the characters over a longer period of time.

Nobody's Business. As the title suggests, this story is told from a different perspective. Paul, an American boy, retells his history with his Indian roommate Sang. The focus here lies on the heartache, friendship, mistakes, and deceit that accompanies their time as flatmates.

Only Goodness. The darkest story in the collection so far. It's about loyalty, abuse, family and chronicles the hard decisions in life that can come up very authentically.

A Choice of Accomodation - I love this collection more with every story. This one might be the one I'm least likely to identify with as it is about a couple on a weekend getaway, pondering their marriage and past, however, I really enjoyed it. Very slow pace, reflective, great storytelling

Finished Hell-Heaven. Again, excellent character study while at the same time highlighting the problems and issues that arise for different generations of immigrants and their children.

Finished the first short story, which I loved. The alternating perspectives were great as they added additional insight into the characters and their changing relationship.
