It's harsh realization to discover that the past Islamic ulema was far gifted that we usually credit them for. They know that there are Arabic custom and context within Quran and Hadith. They aware that there are many hadiths are forged or sounds too peculiarly specific to be said by the Prophet himself. If we go by western definition of medieval, then medieval muslims are modern while the present one are medieval.
