I enjoyed the first book in this series enough to try Fablehaven again. The second book does not disappoint. In this second adventure, Kendra and Seth return to Fablehaven to help their grandparents. They are greeted by others claiming to be there to help. How will they distinguish good from evil, truth from deceit? With a little magical intervention, their adventures continue to help us understand why Kendra is so important to this place and give Seth the perfect opportunity to prove he is getting wiser with age. My favorite quote from this book comes from Tanu when he asks, "Can you see the power emotion has to distort our outlook? Makes you wonder, did you have a bad day, or did you make it a bad day?"
