The book has historicaly acurrate parts that make it that much more enveloping as you read

There is a lot of action and fast paced scenes close to the end of the book that makes you want to not stop reading even more than ever.

in the book, they have some details that are blurred and either make it somewhat confusing to follow, along with French and German words in the book or create a tension between characters and make you want to find out what's going on by continuing to read.

Seeing the main character, Jim, escaping Germany and his close encounters and the tactics he uses is exciting and makes you want to not stop reading to find out what happens, or what doesn't happen, to jim.

Has a view of the bombing of Germany during WWII with a somewhat less bias point of view than most. Has a high level of realism while still having very appropriate content.
