The romance is still gushy. This book is odd, in that the writing is very well done and very descriptive (including the lore), but in contrast the love scenes are quite innocent and the male (Laegon) has no flaws what-so-ever, too perfect. It’s just a weird combination. I’m loving the kingdoms and Elven lore though.

I’m seeing much more character depth, which I am very much enjoying. I also think the author handled the father-son interaction in the book very well. Still wondering the mysteries of Irewen.
