I wonder sometimes why we think we have to like every character in a book, or every character we feel we should like. Unlikable characters have their place too, especially when they are dynamic and the author plays into that part of them that bugs that crap out of you. If I remember a character because I hate them, that's better than me forgetting everyone because they were status quo. Mess stuff up ;)
