Mayim de Vries added a status update
A day may come when there is no Sanderson in my feed, but it is not this day. When it finally comes, I shall start reading his books.

Siobhan Haha sorry I'm not helping there. I find when I'm reading one of his books there's suddenly loadsss more of him on my feed.

message 2: by Mayim (new)

Mayim de Vries Siobhan, don't feel guilty! My feed is literally overflowing with Oathbringer, but there are also other books featured quite regularly. :)

message 3: by Ivan (last edited Nov 26, 2017 02:59AM) (new)

Ivan I'm not sure that day will ever come. He is popular and he does write lot of books.

message 4: by Siobhan (new)

Siobhan I'm a newbie, still making my way through Mistborn trilogy. My feed is full of Oathbringer too. :)

message 5: by Mayim (new)

Mayim de Vries I don't lose hope, Ivan. :)

message 6: by Derpa (new)

Derpa I didn't like Mistborn, but I am tempted to start Oathbringer, which has even thicker books. Send help.

I thought Mistborn was pretty mediocre but I did like Stromlight archives a lot (at least first two books, I'm yet to read Oathbringer). I also liked Warbreaker which I also found it better written than Mistborn.

The third book in the first Mistborn series (storyline? block?) gave me a reading slump, specifically the last couple of hundred pages.
I will most likely dance around Stormlight nervously for a bit, then possibly pick it up during Christmas.

message 9: by Mayim (new)

Mayim de Vries Oh Derpa, I'm curious to read your review!

message 10: by Sad (new)

Sad Sunday (Books? Me?!? NEVER!!!) Beware, Sanderson has an army.

More like worshippers :D

message 12: by Sad (new)

Sad Sunday (Books? Me?!? NEVER!!!) Yep, a proper cult :D

message 13: by Stefan (new)

Stefan Brace yourself. He's about to win this rigged GR awards thing.

message 14: by Mayim (new)

Mayim de Vries No way, I'm betting the Harry Potter thing. Or was it last year? :D

message 15: by Stefan (new)

Stefan Mayim wrote: "No way, I'm betting the Harry Potter thing. Or was it last year? :D"

Oh s*it! I didn't even registered Beasts. What the hell is this book doing here? What, whenever a new edition pops out, it will be a contender? Rigged I say! :D
Should I punish myself as well Mayim, and say how I'll read Oathbringer if anything but that book wins in Fantasy category? :D Do I really hate myself that much? :D :D

message 16: by Mayim (new)

Mayim de Vries No Stefan, you are a cutie-pie not a fountain of hatred. Have a cookie dear (home baked!) and read a decent book.

message 17: by Stefan (new)

Stefan Buahahahaha! Touché. :D

message 18: by Hiba (last edited Nov 26, 2017 04:46AM) (new)

Hiba I think that day is not coming anytime sooner. Atleast not for me because everytime I open my feed, the first update is always related to Sanderson. I've only read his 'Elantris' and was sorely disappointed.

message 19: by Mayim (new)

Mayim de Vries Hiba, I haven't read anything yet :D and my expectations soar even higher with every feed I see. This is problematic as you can imagine.

message 20: by Timelord Iain (new)

Timelord Iain You can just wait 30 years and read the entire Cosmere without having to wait for decades like the rest of us... kinda like we get to soon with the Malazan Buddy Read starting next year...

message 21: by Mayim (new)

Mayim de Vries It's OK Iain, in 30 years I will be even more beautiful, smart and hilarious. I can wait. :D

message 22: by Anirudh (new)

Anirudh I think Stormlight archive will be my asoiaf, you know that thing that takes 25 years to read and might not even finish by then :D

message 23: by Tamar (new)

Tamar yeah, he's on my feed. I thought of reading it too but then i thought that the next one will bepublish in 2020 and then there's another book that will be publish in -who know when- so for now i'll wait cause i probebly have to reread the first 2.
btw - WARBREAKER is free on his website.

message 24: by Timelord Iain (new)

Timelord Iain Yea... right now the tentative release schedule is 2020, 2024 (end of first 5 book arc), 2028, 2032, 2036, 2040, 2044... I think... each book takes him 1 year to outline, and 18 months to write... but he needs a break between each book to refuel and write other things... he writes some YA series/trilogies, and fits in another Cosmere book or 2 between each Stormlight book... so we get SOMETHING from Sanderson most years, at least... if not always the thing we want...

Haha brilliant update 👍🧐

message 27: by idiffer (new)

idiffer Yeah, the sanderson in my feed is getting a bit ridiculous. must you like EVERY update and review?

message 28: by Mayim (new)

Mayim de Vries I mostly ignore them since in general I try not to react to books I don't know but plan to read in future.

message 29: by Timelord Iain (new)

Timelord Iain Sanderson is in my feed pretty hard as well right now... mostly because he's in the UK on his book tour and people are getting pictures with him... like Ahdam did a few minutes ago (altho he hasn't posted them yet)...

@idiffer: sometimes I feel like I don't like things enough... I like a handful of things a week... usually less...

message 30: by Nimrod (new)

Nimrod Daniel Haha. You definitely should pick The Final Empire (Mistborn 1). Basically it has a self contained plot. *Trying to convert you to Sandersonism ;)*

message 31: by Veronica (new)

Veronica *snort* I applaud your non-conformist ways.

long live non-conformism! (and chocolate!)

message 33: by Veronica (new)

Veronica Most definitely chocolate. :-)

message 34: by idiffer (new)

idiffer but only white chocolate, bc it's more nonconformist that way

message 35: by Igor (new)
