Margot’s Reviews > Hopi Kachinas > Status Update

Interesting to read how the Kachinas were used in ceremonies and their importance.

Interesting synopsis of how the Hopi Kachina tihu, or effigy turned into a collectors' doll. Also, how the carvers went from obscure, God like figures, for the children, to known artisans for the knowledgeable. Losing the religious meaning so that people could make thousands of dollars.
