“... With instincts that never let him down, he knew that this small blond-headed man was going to be his for the long haul of life. He just had to wait for the little guy to figure it out.”

Uh, that’s creepy, red-flag level behavior/thoughts, especially last bit about Bret not figuring it out yet.

You know, I don’t know if this is really what I wanna be reading, so moving it off to the side for the time being. I read it before, back when it was first out I think, and I loved the series and RFH theme, tho RFH West I had enjoyed more, so wanted to reread to catch up, and now wondering if I can enjoy it after reading so many fabulous books that deal with consent and communication and the like more thoroughly.

Your first response to someone you DO NOT KNOW waking up and starting to panic should NOT be to pick them up onto your lap and hold them. Especially when they’ve obviously experienced some severe trauma at hands of someone else.

Why is it such a common theme for the alpha types to get all grr that someone is touching person they are interested when he doesn’t know his name, haven’t even spoken to one another, and he just rescued him from flooded area?? Like, that’s TOO. MUCH, not something attractive or desirable?
